Time Generators

A time generator contains timing related simulation properties, including the start time for the simulation (date for first trace), the number of cases per day, office-days and -hours, as well as individual activity duration and delays between succeeding activities (the time between two activities). All properties can be randomized by adding deviation bounds.

The case start precision determines the precision of time values for case starting times. During the execution of a simulation procedure, the simulation engine generates case starting times on basis of the number of cases per day. In case of “HOUR”, cases will always start on full hours.

The duration of process activities can be specified in “Activities Duration”. Besides individual activity durations (a time value together with a deviation), it is also possible to set a (randomized) default duration (randomized time value or random time value within specific boundaries) which is chosen when there is no individual duration for an activity.

Activity delay measures the time between the end of one activity and the start of the next activity. Activity delays can be specified in the same way as activity durations.
